How to make a bibliography

Background
When researching a project, it is very important to cite (record) the books, websites and other resources that you use to get your information.  This information is collected in the project's bibliography.

Citations are usually formatted in a few, generally acceptable ways.  The two major formats are called the MLA and APA formats.

These are named after the organizations that created them.  MLA is the Modern Language Association (http://www.mla.org) and the APA is the American Psychological Association (http://www.apa.org).  We will generally use the MLA format in this class.

Here are some sites to assist you in creating your bibliography.

Fieldston Tate Library's Citation Help Pages

For Print Resources (books, magazines): http://www.ecfs.org/tate/citingprint.html

For Electronic Resources (websites, Wikipedia etc.): http://www.ecfs.org/tate/citingelectronic.html

EasyBib Online Bibliography Creator (http://www.easybib.com)  You can even create an account and store your bibliograpy so you can use it later.  The basic version is free.
