How to add accents using a PC
You can go to Type it in Spanish if you do not want to do all the complicated things below. Just bookmark this site to use whenever you want! or you can do the steps below: To make accents on a PC: Step one; Put number lock on (and leave on) Step two: Press alt key and at the same time: 160 for á 130 é 161 í 162 ó 163 ú 164 ñ 129 ü 168 ¿ 173 ¡ 174 « 175 » Á ALT + [numeric pad no.] 0193 (e.g., Los Ángeles) É ALT + [numeric pad no.] 144 (e.g., Éxito) Í ALT + [numeric pad no.] 0205 (e.g., Índice) Ï ALT + [numeric pad no.] 0207 Ó ALT + [numeric pad no.] 0211 Ú ALT + [numeric pad no.] 0218 Ü ALT + [numeric pad no.] 0220 Ñ ALT + [numeric pad no.] 165 « ALT + [numeric pad no.] 174 » ALT + [numeric pad no.] 175
OR: in WordPerfect - Click Control+W and a dialog box pops up. Change the character set to "multinational", scroll until you see the character you want, then click on "insert & close". For Macintosh Programs: Hold down the Option button and the E key at the same time. Then type the letter that you wanted accented. Example: Option+e, then a, gives you an accented a. If you wanted an accented capital letter, type Option+e, then hold the shift key while you type the letter you need.
