Speaking at the Pratt Institute Brooklyn, NY

The first group of Fieldston students had the opportunity to share their experiences with journalism students at the Pratt Institute this afternoon. Students in this group included Adam D., Annie, Tom, Jake and Stephanie. Adam Gaynor, TCI, was also present. The biggest challenge of this journey was getting there! What should have taken 30 minutes, ended up taking a little more than an hour. Pratt is a difficult place to find. The effort was indeed well worth it as this group of sophomores and one junior spoke candidly to a class of 12 or so students about their New Orleans experience and their advocacy efforts. Pratt students asked questions such as "What made the biggest impression on you?" and " How has this experience changed you?" For several of the students, the NOLA trip made them more appreciative of the things that they have, but also wanting to do more to help those effected by the hurricane. This was a great first talk!
