What might this approach to behavior neglect, which could be important to understanding a species? For Friday 9/25: In textbook: Read pp 9-11(start at bottom of page 9) Answer discussion question #3 at bottom page 11) (There are some references to voles from previous pages but I think you can get the point from context.) Read 14-21. Explain why male langurs commit infanticide. For interest: Read Alfred Russel Wallace's explanation of Natural Selection Wallace Excerpt Sept 25: for Tuesday/Wednesday Read pp63-72. Answer discussion question 3.3 p. 69 Sept 30: MiniEssay due Next Wednesday: When natural selection changes the behavior in a population over a period of time, what biochemical processes in the organisms are usually involved? Think about the following question: Is it easier to breeders to select for structural changes or behavioral changes in species? Oct 7: Report to room 403 at 8:30. No need to go to first period class. Oct 8: By 6PM, the following links should be operational. You should only click on the link which refers to the time period during which you collected gorilla data. Make sure to enter your data for each time INTERVAL. The first interval is what you see when you click the link. The rest are tabbed along the bottom of the spreadsheet. Then make bar graphs (or pie graphs) of the %'s of the behaviors, for a total of 4 graphs. Note I am not asking you to make any graphs of single intervals at this time.

Last topic on test will be sexual selection/mating; we will finish by Tuesday. The other topics are: Behavioral Observation, natural selection, FAP's, nature vs. nuture, Types of Learning, Conditioning, social learning, foraging, antipredator behavior.
